Why is it so hard to find the 6950 in canada these days???

Thread Starter
Like the title says.

Ive been searching around variouse canadian outlet stores and i can not find a very good selection of 6950s.

The two brands that i wanted were eigther asus or gigabyte (due to the massive coolers on the cards)

asus is nilch and gigabyte is only sold in one store (tigerdirect)

i live in london ON, and i cant drive out of town, so i have to eigther pick it up here or have it shipped.

--

So this comes with a sub queston, should i still attempt to get a 6950 OR should i venture into the world of 7xxx

Check out NCIX's current sale prices on these cards, there are some good price reductions there. It shouldn't cost much for shipping to your area.
It certainly would be better if you could upgrade to a 7850, as it's a newer-generation card with good performance. They've got some 7950's on sale for up to $120 off, but that still may be beyond the budget.

Looks like a lot of the retailers are doing final clearance on these cards. Canada computer has a few Gigabyte 6950's left, you could go to the Canada Computers on Richmond street and ask them to transfer the cards over from other stores for you.

http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=43_557_559&item_id=042354

Edit:
It may be more worth while to spend the extra cash and get the 7850's. They're also instock so less hassle.
