Your opinion is far from the truth and misleading to members which needs a report post feature..
Do some research and come back when you have some type of idea and can stir the members of this forum from fact and not opinion.
To the 2nd guy.. i guess you only looked at the high res bench select the 2nd to see 1920x1080 bench.
And just to add.. My former Main rig was a 2600k.. That is now my back up rig.. so i do own a i7 2600k..

Take a good look at this review and be realistic wink.gif

Have you read your past posts? And have you actually looked at more then 1 review? The difference between pci e 3 and 2 is almost nothing.
And the important point im trying to make here is, the OP does not use pcie 3.0 so it does not matter.
This is about the OP trying to upgrade to either the 2700k or the 3770k and is asking does the performance and features of the 3770k justify $70.
Does 3% justify $70? No absolutely not, especially since he cant use the pcie 3.0 at all(which makes little difference.)
I even personally went with a 2600k over a 3770k in my build because of the heat. Sure its made to run hotter but that doesn't mean everything else in the system is too, a 480 is already toasty enough wink.gif

it is more like 3%=10% depending on what it is with video encoding being the biggest performance boost. The heat is due to the density of the 3d transistors and them not able to transfer heat like the 2d transistors of Sandy.
This heat does not effect anything in your case... As my Chipset is running 30 c and my case temp is 24c across 5 Thermal probes located all over my case.

With 1 Gpu he may relay on the iGpu in the future and IB is twice as fast.

And if the price gap is 70$ shop somewhere else.. Most places the gap is 20-30$ @ micro center there almost the same price.

And last of all i read hundreds of reviews a month.

This thread is funny. OP, please do yourself a service and do not waste 70 dollars on a 3770K. There is really no noticeable performance gains. You aren't running quad 680s, no one cares about the on die GPU because its useless for gaming, and clock for clock, and the only place you'll notice Ivy's advantage is in benchmarks. Anyone that is trying to convince you otherwise is trying more to convince themselves that upgrading was worth it, and based on the number of threads such a user has tossed around garbage information, they are really having to work at it. Anyone can post graphs of colorful bars with numbers posted next to them, but smart people can interpret the data.

Edit: There are also some people in this thread that thinks a Microcenter is on the street corner of every neighborhood in the world. doh.gif

What? Why would he use a iGpu? A 480 is still a great card and honestly no one uses a iGpu that games or is a enthusiast (Most of this site)
And you never mentioned your cpu or gpu temps under load ^^ but its cool i dont care honestly.
its not worth the $70, he wouldnt even be able to tell the difference in a side by side comparison unless you where looking at the cpu score alone.

And that wraps it up very very well. It simply does not justify the $70 dollars on that setup or really most setups.

Op search around for a 3770k somewhere else.

I provided proof to back up my claims...

The others are just opinions from Sandy Bridge owners whom provide no proof to back up anything they say.

Benchmarks are used to show you your performance Gains btw..

If you choose to go with the out dated SB cpu buy it used and save some money. there is some good used deals out there on them.

When Haswell comes out i will be selling my 2600k and my 3770k will them be moved to my back up rig.

And then i will be pushing Haswell...

I'd go with the 3770k, better intergrated graphics, better resale value.
Better clock for clock, although it won't get up to the same sort of speeds which is a shame, it uses less power too which is nice and it's also got a PCI 3.0 controller which is nice too.
I'd suggest it if you're not compromising anything else for it.. Otherwise get a better GPU with the $70 saved! thumb.gif
