Need help with a weird problem

With my current sig rig, I have been having an extremely weird problem. confused.gif

The computer doesn't turn on after it's been shut down for a extended amount of time. It works fine when I reboot it. Only when I turn it off to go to work , when i get home the computer doesn't turn on at all.

I'm sure it not the button itself as i have tried to turn on the computer with the start switch with no results.

The only way i can get it to turn on is by pulling the plug and leaving it alone for about 30 mins or so then everything is fine and dandy.

I haven't started to strip down any of the part to see if they affect the booting as i'm not even sure what is causing this problem.

Please help!

Sounds like your power supply itself is going out on you, when they start to go they can do all sorts of weird things like this. By unplugging it and letting it sit the power supply dissipates any static charge in itself, which could be part of the issue.

Do you get any power to the board after its been sitting up for a long period of time? In other words I had a ASUS AM3 board that sometimes after sitting around for a lengthy amount of time would power on for about 1/4 sec then nothing and I would have to switch power on/off on the PS to get it to power on. As far as what I did to fix it, well nothing, still using that same PS in a SB system and it hasnt happened since.

The best way is to test your power supply.Better yet if you have another one switch them out.
