I think there are 1000s of options smile.gif .. all it takes is any momentary switch, but I like these, they are solid just need to figure out if I want black, chrome or brushed. and if it should have lights or not smile.gif

This is the remote I will be using:

331

It's a fairly regular USB connected media center remote, compatible with most media software.

I need to get the receiver mounted inside the box, so had a peek inside to get an idea of how to mount it:

The PCB is kind of big, but I don't think it will be a problem

Did a quick mock up to make sure the parts would fit in the planned 35x35x12 cm sized case.

It should be possible, but not much space to work with. I want it as compact as possible.

Don't worry, I'll clean all the parts smile.gif The PSU and DVD will get some paint and the cables will be sleeved.

There will be 2x120mm intake fans in the sides, 1 x 80mm exhaust in the PSU and then I'll do vents in the back above the motherboard connections.

First some paint on the DVD to make it look better, sure it will be mostly hidden inside, but I still want it to look and feel nice:

Next I'll take the PSU apart, give it a good cleaning and some fresh paint.

I'm considering how to do the round corners, they must be round.

I could probably bend the acrylic with a large heatgun, problem is just that I don't have a heatgun, so now I need to decide if I should buy one, might not work rolleyes.gif

Anyway, I do have another idea, will take a bit more work, but it should be doable, I have some 50mm plastic pipe (here one cut in half)

450

I could cut it in quarters and glue it together with the acrylic. I'll need to do some tests to see if that would work. Not sure if I can get a good enough bond between the plastic and the acrylic.

attach the thing with the bending radius u want to , to a table or something , imagine a bending break , but instead flat edge , rounded with the radius u want

i know i know , the bending break will break the acrylic , what im saying is that its the same principle of how the bending break works , aplies to this , u will do the bending with one hand and in the other , a heatgun , and it will take the form of the tube with specific radius u got

Thanks, yeah, I was thinking something like that, just using the pipe to make a jig for bending, but as I don't own a heatgun and would have very little use for it besides this project, I'm exploring other options smile.gif

I do have an electric grill though biggrin.gif might actually be able to get it hot enough to bend the acrylic. Will have to experiment a bit though. Or I could sabotage my old toaster oven and steal one of the elements.
