Pretty sure I'm having a mobo issue, just want confirmation :)

Built someone a computer and I have to jump the pins with a screw driver to get it to start or finesse the wire to make it work which is just strange. Regardless, it'll start up (or not sometimes) and then turn off. Or it will boot up, screen with turn on and then turn off... OR it will boot up screen will turn on and it'll start loading Windows when the screen turns off while the computer is still ON and then after about 10-20 seconds the computer turns off. I tried the PSU on another mobo to see if it'd boot it up no problems and it booted the board up but i didnt have it hooked up to go into windows or any of that. I've looked for any blown MOSFETS or transistors and i dont see any tops blown, swollen or leaking.

Running a ASRock 970 EXTREME3 AM3+ AMD 970

Could it also be a PSU problem possibly? The PSU light in the switch in the back is flickering. Ive never known them to flicker.

If this is a new build there are many possibilities. I'd reseat the RAM and video card. Make sure the HSF is properly mounted on the CPU and if possible run Memtest86+ from a flash drive or CD. You can test one DIMM at a time. It could be something as simply as a bad PC case power on switch or wiring issues from the switch to the mobo?

Hey man, thanks for the reply.

I'm pretty sure it's crap wiring for the switch but that shouldnt matter once the computer is started. So I don't know what's going on... And right now everything is up and fine for the time being.. I've never encountered anything like this in my work before lol.
