Alienware m17x R4 default 6GB RAM configuration

Hi all! I just ordered an Alienware m17x R4 (not a gamer but wanted the higher-end power). All know their upgrades are way overpriced so i kept the base 6GB RAM. Since 3720qm has dual channel access, i am wondering if 6GB will cause it to run slow as it probably will be 4+2 GB DIMMs. When accessing the extra 2GB from 4GB DIMM that does not have a counterpart in 2GB DIMM, will it be running at half the speed? If so, can i swap out the 2GB DIMM with a CORSAIR 4GB DIMM - same 1600 speed (but don't know the timing/wait states etc). ?

No it will not run slow at all. Don't worry about it. My GF has the same config.

Also, it is not just regular RAM sticks. They are laptop RAM sticks, so the sticks aren't full sized. Just saying because you didn't specify if your CORSAIR was laptop RAM or not.

Oh i am sure it won't run slow - i was more questioning if it will be optimized with one 4GB and one 2GB stick - after all its dual channel RAM. And yes if i was going to swap out the 2GB stick with a Corsair 4GB, i will use the SODIMM 1600MHz one - the desktop one won't even fit!
