What about the comparison of the chipsets (Z77 vs X79)?

There's upgradeability to it, but then comes a big price tag. If the current i7-3930K's are 500 dollars, who knows how much the octo-core hexadeci-thread CPU's will cost?

I have come to a conclusion.
I have looked and scoured (pans) and flipped through many pages on the internet about this topic.
Based on AnandTech's and TechSpot's benchmarks, it seems to me that the i7-3770K is a clear winner ahead of the i7-3820 and i7-2700K. It wins in almost all synthetic benchmarks and pulls ahead of the other processors in gaming.
I've also looked at the Z77 chipset and how it compares to Z68 and X79. While X79 offers a lot more memory slots and PCI-E bandwidth for CrossFireX and SLI configurations, I am going to be building on the Micro-ATX form factor. Thus, the X79 chipset's features have virtually no benefit against Z68 or X79. Plus, the memory bandwidth of the X79 chipset falls behind LGA 1155 configurations.
Graphics-wise, the i7-3820 has none. What if my GPU fails? In that case scenario, I won't be able to use my computer at all if my GPU fails -- something I absolutely do not want during the school year. The i7-3770K features the new HD 4000 graphics, so it'll do for basic gaming.
However, LGA 1155 is almost EOL. The i7-3770K is probably the best and last iteration of LGA 1155 processors before Haswell comes out in LGA (1150?). There's upgradeability with the LGA 2011 socket.
Then again, am I going to upgrade? For the most part, probably no. Most games only need a decent GPU upgrade to catch up with the current generation of games. Most processors that will come out with the LGA 2011 socket will be new iterations of the 3930K and 3960X, even more 500-1000 dollar processors that I probably won't be able to afford.
I understand the heat issue with the i7-3770K. However, with an H80 CPU cooler, it's all fine.
I currently have rested my decision on the i7-3770K.
However, the OCN community disagrees.
Feel free to vote still, the poll isn't over. You can still argue that ---- CPU is better. You can still change my decision. But my current decision is on the i7-3770K.
