CHIP GIANT Intel told its customers that its channel platform group (CPG) and its digital enterprise group (DEG) have come to a decision about the problematical BTX chassis design.
The blokes have had a conflab which they call a re-assessment of the the "current market environment", and have cut the Gordian Knot by deciding not to make BTX stuff for the channel, as part of a "small form factor" strategy.
It will carry on simplifying the SKUs for the channel and in any case low power Core 2 Duo microprocessors somewhat mitigate the need for BTX as part of an "acoustical value proposition".
