K90 Vs. Razer Blackwidow Vs. Filco Vs. Other

Thread Starter
Well, Right now i've decided on the K90 cause it looks bad-ass, and it's cherry MX red and the Macro Keys will work well with my Razer Naga im getting :')
But I just want to ask is the Razer Blackwidow better in anyway?
And is FIlco really worth it? It's so expensive compared to the other options and it's really just a normal mechanical keyboard o_o
Is there any other keyboard's I can get on NCIX ? (ONLY NCIX)

Razer is full mech. Also its Blues with Blue LED or Orange for BF3 version or Red for ME3. I like Blues so Razer was for me. Really did not like Reds. I would try them both before u decide.

Razer's keyboard products have lower build quality than most other keyboard manufacturers. Personally, I wouldn't get a Blackwidow *especially* because it uses Cherry MX Blue switches, which are crap for gaming (excellent for typing, however).
Filco mechanical keyboards are widely known for their excellent build quality. They also use Filco stabilizers, which to many feels like heaven compared to "mushy" Cherry stabilizers.

Im a gamer with a Razer BW ultimate and what the above poster said is untrue.

Its good for typing AND gaming. Its not GREAT in either but its GOOD in both. The Cherry MX blues are kind of the middle of the road switches they aren't specialized towards one or the other but try to be good at both but not GREAT at either.

As for the build quality. Well I dont think Filco or Ducky have tens of thousands of their keyboards on the market to the general public. I bet at best theyve sold 10 to 20k over their lifespan. Most people that own Filco or Ducky tend to be PC enthusiasts or at least tech enthusiasts and therefor are much less harsh on their hardware. Whereas the average consumer (who probably would go with Razer) tend to be a lot rougher with their stuff.

The build quality on my Razer is fine and Ive been using it for about 6 months solid. I dont treat it very well at all and its still running tip top. As is my Razer Mouse, which Ive treated even worse than the keyboard.

I would suggest you decide which one you like the most for the money and make the decision. Not let those of us with BIAS make the decision for you.

I care about typing and gaming, and I heard that typing on Cherry MX Red is horrid but some other people say it's heaven.
I really like the idea of it being so light so I don't get tired fast, at the moment im using a crap rubber dome Dell Keyboard and a Razer Lycosa (Which in my opinion is also crap). I love the idea of all those Macro's :3 , But it's Blue D=, while all my other setup is Red. That's my only concern =/
Now my question is which Cherry MX do you prefer? Blue, Red, Brown or Black?

Blues are made for typing... Browns and Reds are more of an in between. And then blacks are more suited for gaming than typing.

From my understanding:

Typing.............................Gaming
Blues>Browns>Reds>Blacks

It all comes down to personal preference though.
I prefer browns.

It boils down to what the OP prefers overall. Some people may be fine with gaming on Cherry MX Blues. For me, it's horrible. The best decision would be to see if you can try out any Cherry MX Blue, Red, Brown, and Black keyboards and see what you prefer.
If you want a red backlit keyboard, I'd recommend some of Cooler Master's keyboards.

Yeah I did check out the MKOC last year when I decided I wanted to go BACK to mechanical and what I see is a bunch of tech gurus like me except they treat their hardware like its a baby who needs to be sheltered from the world. One guy said he cleans his switches every 2 weeks LOL.

IVE NEVER CLEANED MY SWITCHES. STILL ON A RAZER ;-)

Like I said its a difference between hardware enthusiasts compared to regular consumers.
