Lol doing better than my 680 which sits around 18.5k these days. Thats with a 1.3GHz clock too.

My 4.7GHz 3930k gets anywhere near 100-110k ppd. Im on 1600 12GB triple channel. On 16GB 1600 quad channel ihave gotten past 130k

Points Per Day, it's how much information your computer is capable of working on in a day.

this is what folding is http://folding.stanford.edu/English/HomePage and that is the site which gives the client download. But basically Stanford university sends you proteins and your computer then simulates the different ways proteins "fold" and then your computer sends them back to Stanford. The information aids the university is curing diseases like Alzheimer's for example. It's also pretty awesome for stress testing your computer and bragging rights lol.

i figured that might have been the case. sounds about right for your setup. unfortunately the FX series CPUs aren't really great at folding

OK, I see now, very good anyways.

I hear ya' on the temps. when I get home from work, my room is up to 100F while the rest of the house is 79F, and thats when the gpu's get to rest until morning.

Also, not sure if you are aware that if you click the novice option and switch to expert, you will see more detailed information, such as project #, and PPD per slot. Thats all that changes when switched to expert

480s are good for up to around 19k each. Some of the best folding cards u can get, just too bad they use so much power. I actually lost ppd by having more than 2 of my 480s folding since it was taking my 3960X down from 140K down to 110K just to feed it.
