PSU question

Thread Starter
is there any easy way to tell if your PSU needs to be replaced?

it works fine and everything is working but the computer will not boot up at all (not even post)the monitor's power button just blinks

i was helped by kidwofl already and he thinks it may be a PSU problem.

i have a 400w PSU

my hardware
7 80mm fans
1 120mm fan
1 90mm fan
AC freezer7 pro
2 sata II 250GB seagate HDD
1 maxtor 160GB HDD
ASUS P5GD1 MB
1 GB DDR 400 memory
1 DVD/RW drive
1 CD rom drive
1 3.5 floppy drive
DVR video capture card (for 8 channel surveillance system)
nvidia 6600 GT OC graphics card

would all that require more then a 400w PSU?

if so how big. and any suggestions.

thanks

I also say the PSU might be your problem. Go for an Antec TruePowerII 550W, under $80 and a great buy

Yes there is a way to tell and that is to measure your voltages. Get speedfan and give us a screenshot of the main screen : http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

It depends on how many amps you have on your 12vrail i would suggest 28amps for a good stable setup. but your useing uplots of energy there to i would suggest may a 450w to a 500w psu
