It technically is possible to use the ION drum module as a normal drum module, but with the amount of hassle and driver modification you have to do, along with the fact that you are extremely limited with what functions you have, it's not worth it at all. Trust me, I spent about a week to get it working before I said screw it and decided to get a real module.

If you have an acoustic set as well, you really don't need to spend $500 or so to get a module. $150 or so and you can get a used Roland TD-3, which is an amazing module with AUX, choke/rim shots, and more than the normal 8 inputs.

- Can't rim shot/brush sweep
- Cymbals are single zone, no bow/edge
- Ride is also single, no 3 way trigger
- Hi-Hat is also single, no half open, foot splash
- No AUX capabilities
- Only limited to 8 inputs
