DDR Timing differences

I have 2x512 Corsair XMS PC3200 2-2-2-5 in my machine right now
I have another 2x512 of Corsair ValueRam PC3200 2.5-3-3-8 laying around

I put in the second pair (ValueRam) and found it running all 4 sticks in PC1600. Any ideas why this might be? I would guess the timings...but shouldn't the faster memory's timing bump up to meet the slower memory, thus running all 4 sticks at PC3200 with 2.5-3-3-8?

Thoughts?

It should of just set them to PC3200 @ 2.5-3-3-8.. Atleast thats what it did in my parent's computer when I added 512mb of ram...

Would the fact that I have the faster memory in the First slots make a difference? I was told that the memory timings and speed will be set by the first pair.

Is that true?

I gota pull out my Video card to be able to get to my memory so I want to be sure this will work before attempting it again.

Damn 7800's are too long >.<

I think its something with the amd memory controller. AMD no like 4 sticks of ram. You should just be able to go into the Bios and manually set them to 200mhz.
