M5A99X EVO

Thread Starter
I have a Asus M5A99X EVO, with 4 sticks of Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B Vengeance and a amd fx 6100 cpu. and my case is a cooler master 922.

i want to upgrade my stock cpu fan to something better, just not sure what will fit and not fit. worried my ram will get in the way. i was looking at say a cooler master v8 etc or maybe a h60 or something. think id rather go with air cooling though.

You will probably struggle to use something like a Noctua NH-D14 or a Silver Arrow with that memory.

I would suggest something like the C14 from Noctua or an H80 or H100.
The bottom fan on the C14 can be removed if you run in to compatibility problems, and is a very good CPU cooler.

There's nothing wrong with using a Hydro series cooler, In the very rare case of your unit leaking, corsair are very good with covering you with the cost of the damage.

If you want something cheaper than an H80 or C14, then look into the Cooler Master 212 or the Noctua U9 or U12.

Hope this helps.

Id recomend this cooler the way it mounts it clears all dram slots and being a down draft it helps to keep VRM'S and N/B cool
