Steering off-topic a bit, did you happen to buy an aftermarket brake-pedal spring for your wheel? They look pretty cool, and are only about $20.

if you're all for fast-paced racing, TDU2 might not please you. It had some negative reputation on having "weird turning physics." Judging from how long the game's been going, multiplayer is also likely to be half dead (I myself rarely plays because space in room doesn't allow the wheel to be constantly mounted, and haven't been playing since May. we all know why tongue.gif )

I just found the game good for open world causal driving, something you normally dont do in racing games.

As for the aftermarket brakes, I actually did search for something similar online soon after I tried the wheel out. I've played 3~4 years of an arcade racing game and I got used to the loose pedals. It's not that I really need the pedals to be that loose, but the G27 brake is just REALLY stiff. Don't really wanna apply that much force with my foot when I'm supposed to be relaxing at home. (it also feels kind of weird because arcade games and real cars have the pedals hanging from top, while these kind of wheel controllers have the pedals sitting on bases.)

So anyway I searched, and all I saw were brakes that make it even more stiff than the original, I was like lol fork that I'll just get myself used to what I have now.

And so I did, kinda.

I'm more interested in whether Bioshock 2 is worth buying if I never played the first one. I have so many games that I wouldn't have time to play both.

I've bought less than 20 games so far, bioshock 1&2 are 2 of them

I bought the bioshock series the first big sale after I joined steam, and I dont even like playing FPS one bit. That's roughly a year ago.

Get'em.

Guys, vote for NFS:HP this round! I've played all three games there, and Hot Pursuit is honestly the only one worth spending your time with.

TDU2 looks and handles like crap. Total disappointment from what I was expecting from the general consensus of the series (although it was always said that the first was a bit better).

Driver's concept of being a ghost or whatever in being able to control any car you're within range got really old quickly, and felt much too ADD-ish. Cars didn't handle too well either, at least not even by GTA standards IIRC.

NFS:HP is pretty flashy in its nature, and it has a lot of second-long cutscenes, making it almost feel like you're playing a slick arcade game, but it's still a good game to check back on for a race or two, and the handling of the cars isn't frustrating.

NFS: Hot Pursuit is fun even if you're not normally into racing games. I recommend buying it if it wins community's choice.

It's not just about being the fastest driver. Your car is equipped with various gadgets like spike mats, EMP, etc. that are used against other racers and police. They have that kinda stuff too of course so you have to avoid getting hit as well. I don't like normal racing games but this was fun IMO. Look up gameplay videos on YouTube. You can play as the police too, your mission being to "take out" the racers.

Anomoly: Warzone Earth is on sale for $2.50

It looks like a really fun winner

oh

a serious version of mario kart

no thanks tongue.gif

I'm still waiting for a driving (note : not necessarily racing, hence "driving") oriented RPG game with a good story.

something like the "open-world with quests concept" of TDU, the modded graphics of GTA 4, with a base story like a car racing movie.

Big city(s), randomly drive around, take quests and get some money for new cars and upgrades, chances to go to big events for unique upgrades, have a main quest line(crucial) that you can choose to proceed as slow as you want, game comes with a hardcore mode that gives an automatic penalty to you and causes nearby police force to go after you when you disobey ANY traffic laws while not street racing.

I can dream can't I tongue.gif
