[Anandtech] ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700T) Review

If you're a fan of Android tablets, the Transformer Pad Infinity will likely be one of the best options when it arrives. You get a good, thin, tablet form factor with a nice high resolution display and functional WiFi/GPS. But if you're really interested in having a tablet that can really perform as a notebook, you may want to wait for the ASUS Tablet 600, 810 and Transformer Book. The hybrid tablet/notebook market is one that Windows 8 seems perfectly suited for, and ASUS now has a lot of experience under its belt in building devices for that market. When those two meet, I suspect only good things will happen.

I love using my room mate's Ipad 3 and I was really tempted by the Surface-Pro, but I think this is the Tablet I am going to get. It just looks so good!

Edit: Hmm, maybe I shouldn't of said I like using an iOS device on Overclock.net, ah well. =P

If it has solid and good build quality like the iPad (unlike my old Asus Transformer) I'll probably get it. Slightly disappointed by the WiFi speed.

* Edit - I hope that my own words taste nice.

Well, it seems like the iPad 3 is here to stay as king.

Not saying this is not good; it's a very decent tablet... It's just that the iPad 3 wins in most categories, some by significant margins.

Looking at the comments on Anand...I can't believe how idiotic the tech community is these days. I wouldn't be surprised the fanbase has made it into the Anand review community. It's gross the amount of biased uneducated people there are.

How come? The Infinity's WiFi speed is better than the iPad 3 on the 2.4GHz network , and when the iPad 3's on the 5GHz network it's about on par with it.

I'll eat my words, I read it as if the bottom Transformer was the newest, when the Infinity is the 2nd lowest of the Transformers.

Yeah I'll bet getting one if the build quality is good and rock solid.

The ipad 3 also costs 100$ more than this and has a locked down OS w/ no flash support.
