I sincerely appreciate your help. I am Just asking why you think that increasing the minimum voltage would matter. Because, and yes offcourse i DID made a test run with max voltage and power % after your advise, 3DMark crashed immediately after starting with maxed voltage.
Never intended to look like i was ungrateful, just trying to understand your advise.

Could the difference of using a Maximus V Gene and a Sabertooth Z77 mobo give that big of a difference? I mean, the use of PCIe lanes are the same in SLI..

it will defiantly have something to do with the motherboard... is PCI-E 3 active on the gene?

Yes thats what i'm doing. Using the sabertooth with the DCII TOP's. And i used the V Gene with the reference 680's.
Both motherboards are 3.0 ready.

Oh and nothing else is plugged in. Besides the mobo and cards, ita exactly the same rig

Also just bear in mind.... if you overclock the memory too hard your performance will decrease.
Find your max stable overclock on heaven 3.0... make sure u restart the PC if u get a driver crash.. u always have to restart in this case.

too me a while to find my max stable... you need to work with 4 different clocks to find their sweet spot.
my advice:

1. start testing with gpu 1 core till heaven crashs.. then back down 10 mhz
2. start testing memory offset with the max core set on gpu 1
3. start on gpu 2 core till heaven crashs
4. start testing memory offset with the max core on gpu 2

always back down 10 mhz if u get a crash until its stable.... dnt forget to restart your PC fter a crash.

ALSO: On the sabertooth...it is quite possible that the 3rd PCI-E slot is not PCI-E 3... therefore making them run at 8x or maybe even lower

EDIT: nevermind
