Cheap(ish) Tablet with Digitizer?

Hey guys, I'm looking for a tablet to take notes on. Doesn't need any impressive hardware.....just good battery life, the ability to display PDF's and let me write over them. I'm trying to take pretty intricate notes for my degree in Aerospace Engineering and am sick of having to print out PDF's and write over them....I want it digitally. Digitizers make that MUCH neater. I'd prefer WACOM, as I'm familiar with it and that system rocks...but anything better than the capacitive nub of the currently-common tablets.

Any ideas?

Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet comes to mind. Has an n-trig digitizer and I believe all the features you mentioned.

That tablet is awesome! I can't believe I hadn't found it before. I'm just wondering if there's a note-taking application similar to what I'd need for Android out there.

One thing that I've realized recently is Microsoft and Dell are doing free XBox 360's with a $700+ computer, I'm wondering if it wouldn't be better to spend more and get a Dell Latitude ST or a Fujitsu Sylistic Q550 ($750 and $850, respectively). I was going to get a 360 anyway ($200)....along with the $300-$400 I was willing to spend on the tablet, that puts me just shy of the Dell Latitude. Is it worth it to spend a little more and get the Latitude/Stylistic (I'll probably install W8 or W7 Enterprise) and get to use OneNote (program that I love, and is free for me as a Tech student)?

Not sure about a tablet vs. a laptop, but the Lenovo tablet has a program called Notes Mobile and there are others with the same functionality, you can see YouTube videos to get a good idea of whether it would be good for you, I like mine a lot. Was recently upgraded to ICS which among other things, further improved the digitizer experience.

W4nderer, I do like that Notes Mobile. The Lenovo has made my short list, which is

Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet
Dell Latitude ST
Fujitsu Stylistic Q550
Asus EEE Slate 121 (either B or EP, doesn't matter....but I'd want the 62GB ssd)
Samsung Series 7 Slate (I would HAVE to buy refurbed and it'd be way over budget anyway)

Any thoughts?

I personaly think my slate is worth it, Don't let it fool ya, the battery life i've experienced with mine is alot longer then what the reviews say, but they are expensive (samsung 7 series) But it does allow me to play D3 and Sc2 on the way to and from work, And during breaks.

To all: I bought an Asus EP121 after ALMOST pulling the trigger on a Dell Latitude ST. I got it for $600 shipped. More than I was hoping to pay at first, but I can't really complain. It came with Windows 7 installed and was fantastic. I installed Windows 8 Dev and the problems started. I'm installing Windows 8 Release Preview hoping for better. The problems included a lot of drivers not working. None of the buttons other than the power button worked. It's not sensing the gyro. I got one in immaculate shape with all of the accessories. It really was pretty impressive. At the time, there weren't any

crizthakid: the Tranformer Prime doesn't have a digitized stylus like I need, but it was HIGH on my list other than that.

Overclock: Those cheap chinese tablets simply don't perform like I'd like. I know they are inexpensive, but they're also CHEAP. I'll buy inexpensive, but I try not to buy cheap. Also, I haven't found one with any good reviews that has a digitized stylus.

Rayleyne: Thanks for that. I read a few reviews comparing the EP121 and the Samsung Series 7. They traded blows but the Samsung always won. eBay has some good looking SS7's on sale for pretty cheap, but not as cheap as this Asus. Would I prefer the Samsung? Maybe. BUT...I've got the Asus and I'm happy with it for now. We'll see how the OS handles aging. W7 doesn't get hurt by age nearly as badly as others, and all I'll need to do is backup class notes for a quick reformat.
