So far my friend has pulled 1.265 on the meter

On the graph, or on a DMM?

What does he see on the DMM w/o touching the voltage slider under the same conditions?

Any idea on what temps look like, and how much it's helped his max OC?

It was off the DMM. And he just used the LN2 BIOS, didn't touch anything it went up to 1.265 by itself. He so far has gotten 1346 stable in Heaven and 3DMark 11. His score in 11 was just barely higher than mine when I ran 1330 so that was odd. He pulled just barely 12K graphics without PCI-E 3.0

every card OC differently. not sure what "setting" youre talking about, but i know you cant expect two cards to perform exactly the same

It means you have to lower the core and/or memory clocks. Ypu can have card A max out at 1205MHz, and card B at 1345MHz. You can't tell until you purchase it and try it yourself. MSi does not provide claims of guarantee that any card will hit 1300. The only guarantee they provide is that it will hit a minimum of 1176MHz, that's it.

Not really a shock when reviewers get hand picked cards.

Respectfully, I think you need to read up on how to overclock properly.....you should start low and work your way up, what you did was copy guru3d's settings which is not how you're supposed to do it....You basically went in there with full guns blazing which leads me to believe you're not understanding the proper methods for overclocking. You can't get 1350 mhz at a touch of a button or by copying guru3d's settings, you have to ease your way into overclocking slowly.

Apologies in advance if i'm misunderstanding you but you basically stated "i copied guru3d's settings and it didn't work". If i'm understanding things correctly you should not overclock until you've been around a while and researched it. Again, if i'm misunderstanding you I apologize.
