Can i embed images in other forums from my gallery? - Page 2

OCN supports importing images form other URLS and just generates a local copy to OCN's servers.  That is how I upload all my images since it guarantees that anyone with access to OCN, can also view images.

The one thing that I can't stand is opening up a high-profile build log only to find all the images are hosted on Dropbox or some other image site that is blocked at my work.

As for the types of screenshots and images that can be posted, anything that obeys the ToS is okay, even if you were to say take a picture of your monitor setup with an copy-righted movie on it playing.  Since you're not profiting from it, you aren't breaking the copyright.  That is at least the stance I was given when I brought up a similar issue in the past.

Kind of an answer but not really, What i want to do is embed an image from my gallery on another forum so it shows up in a post and i want to know if thats allowed.

Ah, long night, I read it wrong.

Anything you post on OCN becomes the property of OCN.  You are able to link it no problem, just in now way can you profit off the images that you have in your gallery on OCN.

So if you were to say post a build log here with pictures, and link it on another forum, website, showcase, etc., they are OCN's property therefore need OCN's permission, especially if there is any way for you to profit off of them.

I guess what i am getting at is bandwidth usage from the image being on another forum not copyright issues. If an image is embeded from my gallery into a forum post elsewhere then the bandwidth to load the image would come from OCN's servers. I don't know if they have a problem with that or what. Sites don't generally like it when you embed thier images onto other sites or your own site (Hot-linking pictures for example)

If you at least link the gallery itself so that people viewing your images have a way to actually get to OCN itself then it shouldn't be a problem.  If you use the built-in embed option form the gallery, it will generate BBCode that will link back to OCN gallery when someone clicks on the image.
