Are you saying that you're going to re-use a Windows 7 OEM Product Key, or are you saying that you have a new one?

If you are doing a fresh windows install then you will format your drive in the process. You will have to install new windows because you are replacing your mobo. So just format your drive in the windows custom install setup.

Then try this (in the paragraph below hehe). I don't know if it will work, but this is what I want to try. It's an idea that just popped into my head:

Don't reinstall or format or anything. I mean, leave it as it is. When you finish the system upgrade (especially with the motherboard), I think that Windows 7 will ask you to reactivate. If it does, then you may have an opportunity to try the new OEM Product Key!
