So, it has come to this. *loads shotgun*

Doesn't really bother me much since only my spam email is linked to my facebook ... and it is something I only check 3 times a year when I expect something there lol.
They really should watch their habit of forcing changes on users. If another social network comes up, they might loose out

Good. Hopefully this means they quit emailing me notifications. I'm sick of going to my account settings twice a week to disable email notifications, seems Facebook automatically re-enables them after you turn them off and then my email gets blasted with crap.

Has anyone in here thought of the possibility that maybe, just maybe, Facebook was concerned for their users' security and simply forward any e-mails sent to the @facebook.com e-mail to the actual e-mail that is linked to your account? This shouldn't effect Android syncing contacts.

It doesn't do that, though. It takes any message sent to the email and sends it to Facebook Messaging. Even if it did, though, I have enough filters in place with gmail. I don't need another service screening my emails for me.

I cannot see my friends' emails, so how would Android? I already have my own safety by using Gmail's features (dots and +'s), so why does Facebook force the change? Why am I not notified?

Yea Bassplayer just pointed out that the @facebook.com address sends messages to your Facebook inbox. If you were to open GMail and compose a message to "Bob" from your contacts, it would send it to his Facebook e-mail address (unless you have an e-mail manually entered for his contact entry of course).
