H100 very convex, should I RMA?

I have a corsair H100, very pleased with it, apart from one thing...

When I was stresstesting, it handled 1.46V to cores 2 and 3 like a champ. But 5 and 6, much less so. It got 2 and 3 at 70, but 5 and 6 at 90. Too convex for me. Yes, I tried reseating.

Should I rma? I want to push my 3930K furtherm but due to this convex cooler I can't/ frown.gif

PS: If any corsair reps see this, could they please PM me about this? Thanks.

Lap it unless you want to wait for another H100 and try your chance at it again

I am NOT going to void my warranty on something that could potentially kill my whole system.

1.46v on 3930k is way too high.

Yikes! Those are some high temps. My 3930k has better temps with my Thermalright air cooler. But like others have said 1.46v is high for a 24/7 OC, but still ,cores shouldn't be hitting 90. I would definitely RMA if I were you. And since it is visibly convex you have a good reason to.

That is probably not your HS base but your CPU and IHS....
Once again...

I know, I was testing offset and I wound up WAY too high.

Not visibly, but I have a massive suspicion, else it wouldn't be 20 degrees different...

Are you sure my IHS can be that bad?

If it IS actually my IHS, I have a pretty bad CPU anyways so I'm thinking of maybe using the OC protection for that wink.gif

Afaik. Lapping does not void your warranty.

Granted that was years ago and the H50 is in question.

Someone should clarify.

I've got some more :proof: of this... I'm seriously thinking RMA, due to the voltages and temps.
