Motherboard for my new rig

Thread Starter
I'm looking for a Ivy Bridge motherboard to work with the following hardware:

Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cooler: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (with LEDs) x2 (total 16GB)
VIDEO: EVGA 04G-P4-2673-KR GeForce GTX 670 Superclocked+ w/Backplate 4GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card x2 in SLI
SOUND: Creative X-FI PCI Sound Card
SSD: OCZ Vertex 3 Series - MAX IOPS Edition VTX3MI-25SAT3-120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

This will be for a normal ATX form factor case, either medium or full tower setup. I'm also not 100% set on the RAM but obviously I'm more interested in what motherboard to get.

Budget is sub-200$ but cheaper is better without sacrificing quality. Thanks in advance. I also prefer to stick with known quality brands since I'm likely going to use it for the next 2-3 years at least.

Looking to get an approximate 4.5Ghz Overclock (or close) and also maybe overclocking the video cards a little to a 680 level. Obviously a concern is fitting the PCI card and two video cards onto the board with the cpu cooler and 16GB of RAM.

err..yah ..so much for the budget Biostar board with 13 chokes..It's not good for running dual-gpu config frown.gif
Asus Z77 pro would be my choice..
and this RAM is better:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147096&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Memory+%28Desktop+Memory%29-_-SAMSUNG-_-20147096

You'll need a good power supply, too

Plus 1 more for the Asus z77. I've been using them or asrock for all my computers and haven't had a bad experience yet with either of them. Come to think of it, if you wanna spend less, go for a nicely sorted asrock. They're always light on the extras but they've been reliable to me.

Thanks everyone for the responses, The Asus board looks pretty good.

Anyone got a suggestion on a case to fit all this hardware?? I've got a HAF 932 currently but I'm doing a full build from scratch and the wife is getting my case.

Why exactly is this RAM better? Far as I can tell it's got higher latency...

What's your budget on a case? My favorite cheaper case will always be the corsair 300r. When I sold my last computer to a friend I put it in that case and regretted selling it. I think I liked it more than my 600T I have now.

Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H or Asus P8Z77-V Pro. Both are solid, but Asus support lacks quality lately, so I don't generally recommend going with them at the moment....

You can actually be fine with UD3H too.

Is there a negative to having PCIe 3.0 8x/8x in SLI vs PCIe 3.0 16x/16x as featured in the Gigabyte sniper board? (at a much higher price point)
