Sorry for the really noob question but I have just started my overclocking of my new water cooled 3930K system.
On speedfan and CPUID Hardware Monitor and CoreTemp I am getting the same result that the overall CPU temp is being reported as 80C-85C where as the cores are reporting:
idle: 30C-40C
load: 50C-60C
yet on either idle or load the temp is being reported as 80C-85C.. What gives? Have I set smothing up wrong? (I do have a Koolance PMP-450 pump and it has a PWM feedback which I have put on the CPU_FAN header and so if the pump fails then hopefully the reported pump speed will go to zero and the system will auto shutdown.. The Fan speed reported by the pump is a crazy 4500rpm's or so.)
Here is the chart in speedfan:
You can see the idle and loads:

And here is under load for 30 minutes or so:

And here is the starting overclock which isn't that aggressive..

Am I doing something wrong? Have set up something wrong on the hardware? Or in the BIOS?
If it helps I am using a RIVE motherboard with GSkill mem but for now my memory speeds have been turned way down... (While I determine the stable CPU overclocks...)
Thanks,
jas
