Cooler Master RMA replacement

Thread Starter
Hi guys, so I sent my Cooler Master Real Power Pro 750W to Cooler Master for repair\replacement and received this in return... I feel cheated at the moment, because if I am not mistaken RPP was much better unit. What do you guys think?

Also this

Cooler Master will only make repairs and/or send replacement products for returns. Cooler Master will NOT accept any request for exchange to newer models and/or refunds.
So why they did it?

Just an update.

I decided to email them and see what's is their response. And I got pretty standard, "We don't care, it is our policy response."
Quote:
The warranty policy , http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/contact.php?page_id=9 , also states under “3. What is and is NOT Covered”

“Cooler Master reserves the right to replace the product with a service product at their sole discretion at any time.”

The GX series is the next step up from the Real Power Pro series. The GX series, like the Real Power Pro series and non-modular power supplies. The Silent Pro series are all modular units.

Well since GX units are cheap pos PSUs (read multiple sources and compared different models of the series) that is no where near old Real Power Pro units, they just lost a loyal customer (at least for PSUs which are mostly overpriced units anyway. If only I knew that few years ago when first bought their psu).

Did anybody here has an experience with Cooler Master RMA? I am just interested how they proceed generally. From what I have heard they send I/O panels for the cases without requesting old ones back, and generally provide terrific service for their cases.

You could file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau if they won't send you an adequate replacement. That's an insane policy; Cooler Master is going on my avoid at all cost list.

I may end up doing that because I won't risk using that PSU on any system.

I have had many RMAs (Corsair, Logiech, EVGA, and few more), and they all either send the same product back, or better (G9 to G9x).

GX series is a proper replacement for eXtreme Power series not for Real Power Pro units which were on recommended psu list on OCN (although marked as overpriced).

From their business viewpoint, yes GX series is the closest as far as connections and fact that they are non-modular, but the quality of GX series is just terrible.

They had the old GX units on stock, getting rid of those?

Just to be extra clear, it was the 80 plus RS-750-ACAA-E3 (Seventeam) you got, and not the newer 80 plus bronze RS-750-ACAA-D3 (Enhance)?

RS-750-ACAA-E3 - this exactly.

Are Bronze units significantly better (enhance must be good...)?

BTW the case looks bent, so maybe they changed the internal to enhance unit... anyway to know without voiding the "warranty"?

You will receive a return shipping label in your email from UPS.com for the return of the GX 750 we have sent you.

We will then send you a Real Power Pro 1000w as a replacement once we receive the GX 750 back.

Wow! They just got my trust back. I hope it is not broken RPP unit though biggrin.gif

I am just glad that CM customer support at the end showed the same level of quality as I heard around here thumb.gif. Thanks to everyone, especially CM support that understood the customer's viewpoint on this.

If only they didn't sell crap to begin with.

But then, they've heard my arguments.
