Bought a stealthxstream 700w that smoked itself EDIT: to add while at idle!! (i think i am still suffering the after effects of this...), they replaced it with a zs750. Not much better. Running stock just now because of it! Saving for better PSU and SSD mad.gif

What has OCZ to do with this thread? biggrin.gif

But anyway, most CM power supply units are really bad frown.gif (especially considered the pricing), that is why I refused to use GX unit whatever they say.
Still waiting for my UPS label...

Got a first CM power supply a couple of years back and I don't think I'd buy another one again. It was hot and loud so I ended up cracking it open to put in my own fan. Now it's like a fire hazard...I don't keep it plugged in unless I'm there with the computer. I like the cases they make...just not the PSU.

And they just started making some great gaming peripherals. PSUs are the only products (well maybe case fans too) that a buyer should pay close attention before buying.

What PSU exactly did you own? I can say that Real Power Pro was really quite until it started making buzzing noise for what I did RMA. And it also served me well for more than 4 years (5 year warranty FTW).

This Coolermaster RS-380-PCAP (350W) unit I have here was running an overclocked Q6600 (3.2Ghz) PC with 4GB RAM, 6 hard drives, 6 120mm fans, an optical drive, and a Geforce 8800GT plus two PCI cards just fine for 5 years confusedsmiley.png

It's only overrated by 30W. It's a shame everything else in the EPP line is also ~350-450W.

I can't find a product page for this particular model... guess I'll hold onto it as a spare for testing and so on. The PC it's from was sold so I can't try stuff like running Furmark on it.

And 2 weeks later I received what is most likely a faulty psu...

The psu won't start my system until I leave only motherboard and 2 storage devices connected. If I add one video card the system won't boot.

I am going to get new psu tomorrow to make sure that it is not the Real Power Pro 1000W.

Totally disappointed by Cooler Master quality control.

Uploading a video to YouTube atm, will add link soon.

Cooler Master will only make repairs and/or send replacement products for returns. Cooler Master will NOT accept any request for exchange to newer models and/or refunds.
So why they did it?

Is there anything wrong with the replacement? Have you used it?

The reason why we replaced it with the GX is because the Real Power series has been discontinued for quite some time. The next model available up that matches both the wattage and warranty would be the GX 750.
