Yet another Headphone help me thread! AKA Need new gaming headphones!

Hello all!

Bout 30 minutes ago my beloved Razer carcharias , which i won in a blizzard contest several years ago Broke.

Now the right cannel is completely non-existant, and i cant find where the break is

i figure this would be an exlent time to upgrade to a better sound quality

1. Around 150.00 max would be ideal
2. Heavy metal, Symphonic Metal, Steampunk, (Van Canto, Blind Guardian, Abney Park, Ect)
3. 80% PC Gaming, 15% Music, 5% TV and movies (most of my music listening is on my ipod with a pair of Sure Earbuds!)
4. Currently using a Creative Titanium HD, which provided an AMAZING boost over the built in audio, though the driver problems are annoying
5. They will be plugged into my computer, and never removed!
6. Western Canada, 90% of my online purcheses are from NCIX, though i have heard Newegg is good, NCIX usually beats em for me. Amazon is pretty expensive to ship from

Edit, I have a seperate USB mic, so one is NOT needed on the headphones!

I think most people still recommend the Audio Techinca ATH -A700
You can also look at the M50s from the same brand.

I love these headphones. I have them to use on trips and they will drive off of a phone or any portable device and sound really great through a soundcard.

i would have no problem with Open headphones, though i have never used them, as my computer is in a relatively quiet environment,

i really love how the charcharias fit, a bit tight, they dont wiggle when i turn my head and the fabric feels really comfortable, would the a700's fit like that, or be completely different? im 6'6", incase that matters

That usually the area you want to gain the most out of open headphones.
I wish i could say, I ordered the ATH-AD-700 but they have yet to come in.
I know the feeling though, I have a fat head, hat size 7 5/8 and headphones are a pain to find :l
Hopefully the ATH-AD700 fit though.

yay for being canadian! the Audio-Technica ATH-AD700's cost 150 dollars+shipping, the Pro550's rack up 225+shipping (or "only" 150+50 dollars shipping on ebay!)

did some browsing around town, best deal i found locally were the Shure 750DJ's, usually 175, on for 99.99. Anyone have any expereince with these?

The Stealseries, both the 5H V2, as well as the Siberira V2 are sold in nearly all stores, with fancy boxes (the fancier the box, the less i trust the contents!)

additionally, one of the salesmen raved about the Klipsch One, (which retails for 159.99) and the AKG 142

the best seinheiser that sells locally are the 320's.

Does anyone have any experience with these? the ones recomended above are out of my price range due to the loveley fact that a lot of american companies seem to piss on canadians!
