$ doesnt matter, i want better Temperatures.. going to OC to (is it possible w/ stock cooler? if not, add one as well) 4 ghz to match my gtx 580, also , send me a good reliable motherboard with easy OC. I want a Motherboard under $129 please. Is it worth getting a 2600k for $270? ty.
If you're just gonna OC your CPU to 4.0GHz, go with Ivy Bridge. Should be easy-peasy to do, even on stock cooler. Though I would advise either a CM Hyper 212+ or Evo if a 4.0GHz is all you're planning to do with it, or a Noctua NH-D14 if you're planning to go beyond that.
If you're planning to go far beyond 4.0GHz, like say 4.7GHz, the 2500K would be a better choice, temperature-wise.
If all you do is gaming the i5 series is great. Considering all you want is 4ghz the 3570k will be perfect for you. Ivy temp is easy to control up to 4.4-4.6ghz depending on how good of an overclocker you get. Going to 4.8ghz gets tricky.
I had both, my experience with the benchmarks I ran was that the 2500k was VERY close to the 3570k at the same speeds but the ivy cpu had a 150mhz advantage when both were set the same, meaning the 2500k at 4.6ghz would be about the same speed or SLIGHTLY quicker as 3570k at 4.4ghz. Once I placed both at 4.6 to 4.8ghz the temps started to get a little warm for the 3570k but it was always quicker, the plus was that the 2500k was much cooler running so more safe to me to have it 24/7 at 4.8ghz than the 3570k
Im personally using the asus rog maximus gene-z but at $130 I would have to look around, as rock, asus, msi with heatsinks on the board should do though for 4ghz.
something like this, but there are SEVERAL to choose from, this is a matx mobo but will fit ATX cases also. I just quickly pointed this one out since Im in a rush but can point you in the right direction.

It's worth remembering though, any modern board that is good for a 2500K will also be good for a 3570K so don't go basing your purchase on the board options.
id say around 130, i still need a cpu and some nice ram
