Can the IHS on a C2D be removed as easily as an AMD? - Page 2

Last guy to voice he did that ended up having to super glue the IHS back onto the chip. His temps were insanely hot after removal...

Super glue would be the single worse thing you could use to put it back on, lol.

Thats probably because he didnt do his homework. When you remove the IHS off of an intel you also have to remove the holdown clip on the board so the heatsink will make good contact with the actual core, if the socket strap is still on the board then the heatsink doesnt fully touch the core causing realy high temps. I always get a kick out of things like that, people jump into things without thinking about it.
