Asrock N68C-S UCC 3600 Mhz @ 1.525 volt spurious reset?

I've sucessfully unlocked and overclock my Asrock N68C-S to a 4 core Phenom X2 B55@3600Mhz and 1.525 vcore and I want to test 3700 Mhz. I know this is only a 3+1 power phase. Is this a good idea? My cpu temp is only 60°C with MSI Afterburner Kombustor. I didn't try Prime95 because I think it will blow my mainboard. I've also a question about my reset button? Sometimes it doesn't reboot my system but it hangs somewhere in the boot process or maybe in the reset process? I often need to use the power button to turn off my pc? I'm not able to see a pattern and there is only 2 wires to connect the reset button with my mainboard. Is the wires wrong? My case is a Corsair Carbide 400R.

Given that there is no cooling whatsoever on the VRM on that board I would say it is probably unwise to run it at anything other than stock. But if it's hanging after a forced reboot it's likely that it's a software problem and windows is unhappy about it. You could try a boot repair but to fix it you'd likely have to rebuild windows.

Obviously no, as I've warned you of this several times.  Don't be mislead, by the way - this is a 3-phase and not even a 3+1 phase design (and I usually recommend a minimum 4+1 phase with quality VRMs), it's hardly suitable for running quad cores.  You should definitely avoid placing any kind of severe load here (including stability testing) given the rather severe voltage you want to push through it (yeah... reduce that right away if you can), though you should know that without any stability testing you'll never find out of the resets are a board or OC stability issue.

 

You should seriously look to a new board.  A new board will not only hold your OC with safety but it will hold more OC.  The N68C-S UCC uses a very old AM2 socket chipset that's not really optimized for overclocking AM3 processors.  A 900 series chipset on AM3+ board would be a huge improvement in flexibility - or even a 700 or 800 series on AM3 board.  Requiring 1.525V at all for just 3.6Ghz is just ridiculous.  On a proper board you should be able to do 3.6Ghz at a very low voltage.

Thank you, I knew. I already blew my replacement psu. But my new psu is gold rated. How many watt can I spare with a new mobo when I want the same overclock? 20 watt? Or 50 watt?

Hm?  Do you mean how many more wattage you will need on the PSU?  Perhaps not much.  The newer chipsets might even be more power efficient than the GeForce 6150 so you might need less.

Hmm, a question ends usually with a "?"-Symbol. If I can read correctly it's a question. I'm not sure about the sound, however because he is already warned me often about my mainboard? I'm not a native english speaker. Currently what I'm seeing is that my mainboard is not very efficient. But it seems to work. I also knew that is surely not a linear progression from 1.525 volt to 1.xxx volt and the same in wattage.

3 phase. 95w max TDP (Ph II x4's are 125w TDP, before OC). Deneb should never have more then 1.5v running through it without at least custom loop cooling, and the cooler looks about like a 212+ physically, so maybe that at best in cooling.

I really hope this isn't your only rig, because with what you have and what its at, this computer is a time bomb. Just unlocking is enough to fry that board, even before shoving enough volts down it to fry the chip too. I don't even want to know the temps this poor CPU is at under load.

A dual-core Ph II is good enough for your GPU, don't OC until you have the hardware to do it, and/or the money to replace it.

My cooler is a Noctua NH-U12P SE. It's one of the best cooler for the money. My mainboard already survived a psu explosion. And my maximum temp is 60-65°C but I've also 70-72°C with another case while running prime 95. I think it's best I don't advertise my mainboard anymore but I didn't read about a dead mainboard yet and my box is running 24/7??? I know it's the cheapest of the cheapest.
