Hi guys,

I am wondering if my CPU temps are too high. This is factory settings, not overclocked.
I'm using H100 cooler. and my rigs are in my signature.
I can't overclock much with this temp

Those are the same idle temps my 3570k gets with the 212 Evo. Something definitely seems amiss to me.

Only thing thats useful here are load temps. Idle temps don't mean much unless they are 45+c

Temps here in West Texas have been hitting 39-40C outside and indoor temps stay at 26C.

Remember Ivy Bridge TJ max is 105 c.. So if your thinking Sandy Bridge temps subtract 10c to your temps..

Before mounting the H100, the technician actually mounted the IHS onto my CPU because he didnt know I had purchased a H100. I wasnt around to look at him do it. When I came back I saw the thermal compound was on the CPU, and he was installing the H100. Does having thermal compound or not matter?

Yeah, without paste it would boot and shut down almost immediately I believe due to temps. I wonder if he cleaned off any residual thermal compound from the stock fan before applying new?

Great, he didnt remove it. The thermal compound however is still in liquid form when he attached the H100. Or is there no need for thermal compound at all?
If there's no need at all, I've gotta clean it -_- waste precious my time zzzz

You definitely need thermal compound. My point is he should have, maybe he did maybe he did not, clean off the stock compound and apply new compound before mounting the H100. It would be absurd not to use a good quality thermal compound like AS-5 or something comparable with the H100. Heck, many people using the stock cooler use something besides the stuff that is preapplied.
