You hear "my seagate died on me" far more than "my wd died on me". I too wouldn't be surprised if these SSD's are crap when they come out. They'll probably still sell like hot cakes because Seagate will pump them through their big box store distribution channels.

This. I'm so tired of people whining on Seagate without having even owned a disk from them.

I own ELEVEN Seagate drives (from .4s to my newest one, a .12). Only one failed, and that was after eight years of use, abuse, carrying it to one place or another, and being inside a piss poor cooled case. The poor drive never functioned at less than 45ºC.

If anything, this is good. Will bring more competition to the SSD market, and even better, their Momentus series drives will get a nice needed bump
