Which 7950's can a full w/c block be fitted to?

Thread Starter
Can anyone tell me which 7950's can be water cooled with a full block? I am a total noob at video card water cooling and would like to get a 7950 and water cooling block to complete my build.
I've been trying to contact card manufacturers but it's like pulling teeth so far.

Any of the 7950 blocks (unless specifically marked) should fit any reference card.

The easiest way to tell if it is a reference PCB is to look for the AMD logo near the PCI-e connector:

YestonHD79XXCosteffectivePCB.jpg

There are a few special cases where cards without the AMD logo are still a reference layout and will fit the normal water block. There are also some waterblocks made for specific non-reference cards (like the EK V2 blocks), although it is made apparent in the name or block description if this is the case.

I don't think that there are any non-ref 7950 blocks available at this time, so if you have a reference PCB the block will fit.

All the 7950s are non-ref, since AMD never released the actual true reference. All the waterblocks are designed for this non-ref pcb. There is one US released 7950 that actually follows the 7950 ref pcb, which is a 7970 pcb. That card would be the Sapphire 7950 OC or Dual X or whatever they are calling it now. But anyways, there's a waterblock for all 7970s and 7950s, because the actual true custom pcbs only number in two and those have blocks as well.

OK, be a pedant.

The cards with the AMD logo on it are all the revised reference PCB design, i.e. the design is specified by AMD and should therefore be identical for all manufacturers.
