You don't need any 1155 board for a simple HTPC. With these you can throw in a few sticks of ram and a case w/ included PSU and you'll be fine.
For case: What are your HDD requirements?

I mostly just want it to be large. I'm likely going to be storing a huge number of media files locally. 1-2TB? Other than size, nothing much.

I don't suggest keeping the OS and a large amount of files on the same disk (just my paranoid side tongue.gif). An entire build fitting below $330 will be hard if you're also including the HDDs. Funnily enough, an SSD is the cheapest OS drive I could find (Link). That should be enough since they are just using it for watching movies and it will make the computer seem much more fluid.

Is the GPU a single slot or a dual slot?
