can my psu handle my upcoming upgrades?

Thread Starter
hi all, I'm about to make a huge upgrade to my pc but I'm not sure if my Psu will handle it
my currently specs are
amd phenom 2 965@4.1
collermaster v10
gigabyte 990xa ud3
gskill sniper edition 2x4 1800mhz
gtx 570 oc edition

and my upgrades will be
Intel 980xtreme edition / 3770k
Asus sabertooth z77
corsair h100

so will my Seasonic M12II-620 620W Active PFC Modular 80+ Bronze handle all the above?
many thanks!

Your Seasonic 620W will easily handle a GTX570 and a 3770k, even when both are overclocked.

I would look at getting a more powerful PSU if you use the 980x, especially when overclocking.
I'd go with the 3770k though, unless you're getting a very good deal on a 980x.

Hope this helps.

No need for an upgrade even with a 980x, it still won't come close to the PSU's rated output.

680 has lower power-draw than the 570, you'd only need a solid ~450w unit to power a single card config with that (so yes, you're definitely fine) smile.gif

My bad, I used Psucalc with an overclocked i7 Gulftown with an over volted GTX570, and it came out with 650W, but I guess that's a bit of an over estimate.

LioRiii, You will be fine with your current PSU for either a 570 or a 680, as candy_van said, a 680 uses less power than a 570.
