Gtx 670 temps, what you pulling? - Page 3

ASUS GTX 670 DirectCU II
Non top edtion
Stock Clocks (non overclocked)

Ambient: 20C
Idle: 25C
Load 74C @ 100% Fan
Aggressive Fan profile, Max Fan starts at 55C but temp still climbs

trying to find a way of cooling it more without tearing it apart
added more fans, at most 1C difference.
took off side door/panel: No difference.

I thought these things were supposed to be 20% Cooler than reference but im getting near same temps.

Well that is quiet high funny how adding more air flow didn't help, I personally would take of the heatsink and check your thermal paste, and cooler contact. I have yet to see anything above 60 even with a massive o.c 1300mhz+ with 7000mhz mem.

I have mine @ 1300/6800, and while playing gpu intensive games like metro 2033 i see temps go close to 70º. But it's winter in my country right now, so this temp will increase dramatically in 4 months hehe.

I didn't see any difference on temps after overclocking my 670. TDP usually tops 115%.

I didn't see any difference on temps after overclocking my 670. TDP usually tops 115%.

Very similar situation to mine I barely saw any temp change even with maxing the card out. I've hit more of a power restraint wall instead of a thermal wall with this card. Since the voltages are locked I can only go so far before it's not getting enough juice.

Though I have never had it crash yet but it just doesn't want to go over 1315mhz 7050mhz mem with 115% power. It's not that it crashes/ stops working it just runs at them speeds even if you set it to say 1350mhz.

I think 1315/7050mhz with only 115% power is very nice. My TDP limit is at 122%, but I'm willing to try 132% this weekend.

EVGA GTX670 FTW
1350/3500

26C Ambient

No idea what the stock load is...I'd imagine similar just quieter.

Yep. Zotac reused GTX 680 AMP! custom PCB on GTX 670 AMP!, so power design is a little more efficient and TDP limit on this card is a little higher than vanilla cards. But raising TDP limit to the max shouldn't harm any 670 out there, as voltage is locked on Keplers.

Nice to know because mine is identical to what you explained mine is a 670 built on a 680 board with a 680 power design. Ahh good news to start off the day thumb.gif
