A8-3870k Black Screen while gaming (most of the times).

Hi.

I was wondering if someone could help me with this.

I am having this annoying issue where my screen goes black for about 2-4 seconds, but the actions in-game continue as if nothing is going on, even the sound keeps going. It doesn't happen too often but playing Starcraft like that is really frustrating. Happens like 2-4 times a day when I play anything, but has happened while browsing the internet too.

I havent oc'ed the CPU, everything is as I bought it. I thought about updating the drivers and I did, now I have the 12.4 catalyst drivers, but the problem persists.

Some of the specs are (hoping this could help):

Motherboard: Biostar TA75M.
RAM: PNY XLR8 4 GB (2 x 2GB)
Power Supply: Antec VP450 (450 Watts)

With a similar setup - running Diablo III, I had black screens when running at full resolution. Try 1024x768 to see if you still have the same problem.

Reducing the resolution worked for me.

Make sure you have the latest BIOS (some boards need updated BIOS for full support of the 3870k) and chipset drivers. Also check that your monitor cable is not loose or something, maybe try another one if you have any spare. If none of this helps you should probably consider RMA your processor.
