Wandering which is the best overall (Gaming, Music, and Movies) 5.1 surround sound system?

1. Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 5.1 System
2. Creative GigaWorks® ProGamer G550W
3. Logitech® Z-5500 Digital
4. Logitech® Z-5450 Digital 5.1 Speaker System

(Sorry for the double test but I forgot to put a poll.)

Or are there other better 5.1 speakers?

I say just buy a surround sound system and hook your computer up to it. but from those 4 I'd get choice number 4.

i am somewhat of an audiophile, i got the logitech 5.1 speaker set for $60 from newegg and paired with the $20 diamond xtremesound 7.1 dolby digital they own! at games and music (movies are okay) but really, why buy expensive speakers when you wont really hear the difference. Thick cables=less resistance (Physics) and better quality sound. it doesnt matter if the speaker has some expensive improvements that would actually be compensated for by correct placement as well as monster cables.

Are you high?

cables have NOTHING to do with it. ahaha. You can't lower resistance by using different cables. It's all about the amp, and the speakers...
Sorry, but wires are basically just for hooking crap up. Contrary to what the Best Buy guy told you...monster cables aren't everything/anything.

It's all about the speakers when it comes to computer sound.

Anything Logitech is amazing.....so I'd go with them.

haha. . you've never had a discussion with an audiophile. . . cables do make a world of difference. . . in high end audio.

However for everyday gaming and movie watching i would say get the 5500's. . . im a little bias though .

the 5450's are great but a lil less power. . i don't really trust the bluetooth 100%. However that set does have multiple digital in's (two optical and two coax i think)

Should I stay with Wired Rear speakers for the best power/sound? Is there a difference between the quality of wired/wireless?

Wireless will often pick up interfierence from things like cell phones or cordless phones. I would stay wired.

And Sideburns, with all due respect, cables make a world of difference in almost all speaker applications. You are correct that Monster is not the end-all for wire and that most BestBuy reps cannot be trusted, but I just thought I'd point that out.

BTW, to go with the original poll, the Klipsch's get my vote. They're the only ones made by a company that actualy made its name in speaker building and design, not keyboards or soundcards.

For high-end audio (and video) cables DO make a HUGE difference. However if you're not getting a high-end audio system, you won't need monster cables (I love monster cables but if they're not necessary, don't get them )

is the Klipsch's considered high end? Keep voting.
