Think I'll enjoy my 8150 for a bit, see how far the reviews are OC'ing the 8350, then make a jump after Christmas when the market has gone down 10-15% of the original retail price on these or they are hitting ebay

I'm sick of AMD fans dismissing the importance of IPC and resorting to the argument that it makes up for it by having high clocks, what high clocks???? It clocks no better then Intels offerings.
Bulldozer also clocks higher then Thuban and yet is barely any faster and in quite a few cases is loses.

Exactly, I mean the Pentium 4's high clocks didn't make up for its not so great performance.

You could have a chip that can do a hundred instructions per cycle, and clocked at 10MHz. According to you it would be a great chip.
NO. A chip that does a mere instruction per second but runs at 2GHz would absolutely destroy it.
So it's IPC AND clockspeed what matters. In the end, IPS is what matters. IPC is just a part of it.
Stop defending that point of yours, it is crippled, and only reflects half of the story at best.
Will last until 2015!

Intel wins then.... by a long way.
And you're taking it to the extremes, not a single point in PC CPU history has had 2 CPU's from 2 different companies been as far apart as 10Mhz to 2ghz...
Using extremes and completely unrealtic situations to try and prove a point is stupid.
And yet again you fail to comprehend that IPS meens abosolutly nothing if the chip has rubiish IPC in the first place.
IPC is more important then IPS as IPS can't truly be high without a high IPC.

I agree its a combo of both but to counter an intel i5 at 4.5ghz what clock speed must piledriver reach to be equal. 6-6.5ghz ( this is a pure guess for the purpose of comparison). Now iam looking at a pure gaming rig i wont argue that in multi thread programs piledriver will do well. But when a program only uses 2-4 cores ipc is important. And more important than clock speed. The argument of a 1ghz processor running 1 ipc vs a 100mhz running a 1000 ipc is not a realistic. I do hope for good things from AMD and i will more than likely buy one to upgrade my 965 but thats because iam cheap.
