ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 Standby Nightmare

Apparently (some of?) these boards suffer from a problem that prevents standby and hibernation from working properly. Standby works occasionally, but it usually results in a crash or restart. I've lost a lot of time and data to this problem. Here is what I have observed:

-Happens on Windows and Ubuntu (even on fresh install with no third party programs installed)
-None of the BIOS updates resolve the issue
-Problem is present with stock BIOS settings (no overclocking)

I plan on calling ASUS customer support later today and requesting a replacement. Should I request the same board or a different one? I want a board that doesn't have any issues with standby or hibernation, but is comparable feature-wise to my current one.

That's a common thing with this motherboard (I have the same motherboard myself)..

If you put your system to sleep then most likely upon wake it would restart rather than just boot straight to OS..

If you get another P8Z68-V PRO/Gen 3 it would most likely do the same thing..

Other than that it's a very stable and nice motherboard..
