I was told I would be unable to overclock with the Asus P8H77-V S1155 with my i7 2700k? Is this true.I am about to purchase this motherboard but If i am unable to overclock I will not buy it

Yes, that's correct, H77 boards don't support overclocking. You'll need a P67, Z68 or Z77 board for that.

Whats the presets like in the bios for overclocking?
From what i believe their should be 3.Power saver,Normal and asus optimal? Have you tried Asus optimal? If you have how much ghz did your 2600k go up to?

Yep, it has those. I tried the Performance/Optimal setting but it raises the BCLK in order to overclock. It set it to 103.5MHz, and with the multiplier at 40X that yielded 4.14GHz. But since I'm not comfortable with the BCLK being raised, I reset it and raised the multiplier and voltage manually. I feel safer that way than using the auto settings. tongue.gif
