I did some reading that they changed bigadv to only work for 16-core machines, but that there is a way to fool FAH into seeing as many cores as you want with some Linux trickery. I have an HP server with two Xeon E5450's (8 cores total) and was considering putting Linux on it and trying for bigadv, but only if it is actually going to work. No reason to waste my time if I won't be able to meet the deadlines. Anyone know how I can gague if the server is up to the task without actually trying it out?
Currently the box has Server 08 installed and is crunching SMP for 20-30k PPD. Any input is appreciated!

. I was just saying that it's hard getting bigadv units with just 8 cores. 12 seems to be the magic number so if you don't get any 6900-6904s, try doing the 12 core hack and see if you can complete them.
