then it'll have to be stock clock for that process. the idea computerparts threw out there is a good suggestion. ive
already throttled back to 4.5 and the speedstep idea was totally forgotten. so i can step it back to 4.7 w/speedstep.
i have 32°-40° ambients so i have to throttle back on the air-cool machines.

Dropping the idle clocks isn't going to reduce your load temperatures though. The only way to reduce load temperatures is to lower the overclock. If you have a 4.8ghz turbo and you run something that untilizes it, it's going to be the same 4.8ghz with the same power use as before and you max temperature will still be the same.

It's a 24/7 folding rig, and if it's not folding, I'm gaming. Regardless, I don't need help overclocking it, I was just curious if the rad could make a noticeable decrease in my temps. Doesn't matter now though because I turned down the offer. Thanks for the advice though.

With those extreme high ambient temps, it would be extremely difficult to get lower temps with any amount of radiators you add.
