'Sea Islands' within 3 months after that.. biggrin.gif Nvidia's schedules are on a slippery slope.
Maybe I should buy something like a 7870 or 7850 and sell that right before Sea Islands comes out...

That's a lot more reasonable for a non-sale price! Means these will be going for ~$250ish on sales in a month or two.

IDK it's getting less and less desirable. That 192 bus is just killing this card. I mean, who plays with no AA these days? I really need to see some FXAA benches for games like BF3 and Arkham City though to really see if this card is worth getting. People say FXAA blurs the picture but I've tested it myself in BF3 and it's ridiculous that some people are bothered by it. The most noticeable object in game were the palm tree fronds and even then, they almost looked more realistic with FXAA then with MSAA. I noticed with MSAA, sure the image was more crisp, but that was the problem. The fronds had this weird black outline around the palm fronds making it look like a colored in drawing from a coloring book. Whereas with FXAA kind of meshed the individual leaves together, only very slightly however. That's really the only example I could accurately measure on my 1080p screen. Otherwise FXAA is the clear winner, until TXAA comes out. When is that anyway? TXAA is going to be bad ass I hope it comes out soon.

If the card doesn't at least get close to the 7950 in recent games then I'll probably pass on this one. Might get a 670 but even that is a stretch. From reviews I've seen it gets an average of 60 FPS in Crysis 2 which is cutting it close for where I want my graphics to be when Crysis 3 comes out. Just watched that new Crysis 3 tech demo vid and it might be best to wait for the 700 series. I think Cry 3 is coming out in February though so that might be too late. I wanna be able to run that game max settings without it dropping below 40 FPS. IDK if the 670 would be able to do that with all the tech enhancement's they are working on for Cry 3. And before anybody starts telling me to buy AMD, no, I'm not going to. I'm done with AMD after working with them for 3 years now with my 5850. No thanks, I've learned my lesson. I also really want Physx support. Arkham City makes really nice use of it and I've sworn to myself to not play it again until I get an Nvidia card, so the sooner the better I guess. I know very few games actually support Physx but when they do it's nice to have I think.

Well I guess that's it for my random thought post. Just spewed out a bunch of garble because it's what I've been thinking. Good to write your thoughts down from time to time to collect them nicely. Where better to do that then in a public forum?

Ouch. $340 is steep. Aren't Windforce cards less expensive? $320 for it seems for plausible.

This is why I'm leaning towards the 7950 for my new build. Those cards really aren't clocked as high as they can be, and I'm pretty sure the 7950 would beat (or at least match) the 660 Ti's performance, with another gigabyte of RAM to boot. Hopefully that will make it more future proof, but it should definitely give me nothing to worry about if I ever upgrade to a dual or preferably triple monitor setup. Plus, the price looks to be about the same. Here's to hoping we see some more price drops in the coming week!

There needs to be an OCN AA Fiend club one of these days. biggrin.gif
