That would be what I mean. As in, when will I really ever need more than was graphics card? Can't one GTX670 handle BF3?

I am no BF3 commentator but I can certainly see the need for more than one PCIe socket.Lets say you want a gpu and a higher speed wireless card. You will need two sockets.Single socket PCIe boards are a risk in expandability.Out of the 14 or so boards I have, only 1 is a single socket (or some people say PCIe lane)Very frustrating if you simply want to add another device that requires a PCIe socket. They are cheaper though

Most secondary devices like TV Tuners, Wireless Cards, and NICs use PCI. For them, PCIe doesn't make enough of a difference.

So besides the need for an extra/s video card/s using PCIe sockets, what is the need for redundant sockets?
Also, what you said about the overheating on the chipset due to a lack of HSF is troubling. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I have one for the CPU itself.

Your speed will drop from 300mb too 150mb if you decide to use a wireless card that installs in a PCI slot over a PCIe.Good enough reason for me to get an extra slot.

I would imagine the overheating issue is related to lack of heatsinks on the mossfett group that powers the cpu. Some budget boards do not have this.Perhaps what is being referenced is lack of northbridge/southbridge heatsinks, this is more what comes to mind when "chipset" overheating is spoken of.All three of these areas should have heatsinks on them.

Okay, so I'm going to return the motherboard, speakers (found some old ones that may work fine), and the wifi card (don't want ping problems so I'll just stick with the ethernet...maybe). Is the BIOSTAR the most solid choice? I want something to last, and is fully compatible with all current components. Also ordered the i7 3770K from amazon so that will be arriving. Waiting on a monitor that I love so that may be a while. ^^ Thanks again for everyone's time and help.

Just an update.
I got my CPU, returned my MB and am looking into buying ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS or maybe the ASUS P8Z77-V LE PLUS. Most likely the LK with UEFI BIOS and two 16x PCIe slots because it's $20 cheaper...unless someone can convince me otherwise. Almost ready for assembly!

Need some help yet again; I have a front panel PWRSW, RSTSW + LED's but going to plug them in I realized they were about 10" too short. Does anyone know a good DIY site that may sell the 2-pin extensions to fix this?

Edit:
On another note, I've been having trouble setting up my HDD for data storage. Currently I have my OS (Win7 and Xubuntu running on a VM) running on my SSD which I installed np. But I have my recycled HDD (ST3120026AS) and new HDD (WDC WD10014FALS) plugged in to the 3Gb/s SATA connectors. The BIOS seems to see them but I can't access them via Device Manager on Windows. I want these for data storage under a RAID 1. Could it be I need a driver, special, plug, or I'm just not connecting it correctly? Been searching for answers online but any light that could be shed on the situation would be much appreciated.

Side note: I have my two 6Gb wires plugged into the SSD and DVDrom so I might trying connecting the ROM one to the new HDD and use the 3Gb wire on the disk drive when I get home.
