BTW, I have an extra SSD I'm going to put in it so anything I get is gonna have to have a second spot for one.

I played with the envy 17 and i would have to say no to it. Just grab the 15 There are some other gaming laptops but they start at 2k + and at your budget the hp envy 15 seems to me to best suit you. Slim, powerful, one of the best screens on the market and the best audio.

One of the few brands you can actually trust. Their Thinkpad line is top notch when it comes to reliability. Though the Screen Rez on most IdeaPads are a major turn off.

the only problem i see is if he wants the 675m graphics it will be around 1500 and the screen still will not compare to the quality of the ips panel on the envy 15, it also has better sound. If he moves his budget up by 200 he can get this and it will out perform the hp envy 15. I also have one more concern about it, how is the built quality? because the hp envy 15 is a well built machine. Personally I thought i would never buy another hp EVER but the envy 15 would be the only hp product i would buy atm.

I do like that Sager, I could possibly up my budget for it. I've never heard of em though, time to search for some reviews on em. That's going to be like the very top of my budget though.

I'd have to recommend any MSI branded notebook or a Clevo laptop. (Sager is a Clevo reseller.)

If you do buy a Sager, do it from XoticPC.com. They've got better customer support and generally offer lower prices.

For $1,400 that's a terrible deal. You can get a waaay more potent gaming machine for that price from any Clevo reseller... The 7750M is actually slower than the older GTX 560M. Sure it draws less power, but you're buying this laptop for GAMING, not conserving power while gaming. rolleyes.gif (Laptops already draw far less power than the desktop counterparts while offering substantial performance.)

That's an decent build, but for $1300 you can get into an NP8130 which is a 15.6" notebook with a GTX 670m...

Or a Sager 6165(15.6 with dedicated 650m) or a Sager 6175 (17.3" with dedicated 650m).

You could also save some money by canning the SSD and the 12gb of ram and upgrading them yourself. While the prices on Xotic for those accessories aren't outrageously high, they aren't cheap either.

Just a couple thoughts,
