I don't need anything different from AC's normal stuff, I'm just interested in some paint on it and a "Limited Edition" text or something.

Regarding "special" - By this I mean it would have to look and function great in order to really be worth the price premium over a universal block.

I like the general look of most AC and HK blocks so it shouldn't be too big of an issue for me in terms of looks, and they typically have great performance, although I'd still prefer if it at least looked somewhat special compared to their normal blocks.

Regarding the other points - I understand it's hard to tell this early, we'll see how that goes. Really wish MSI wasn't so stingy with what info they are willing to release. Can't possibly be good for their sales to be scaring off their potential buyers and sending them off to EVGA where they know they can at least get a sure bet with a classified.

Keep in mind that nvidia allocates most of their chips to EVGA, so while EVGA might have tons and tons of chips to make 4gb cards other mfgrs like asus or msi may not. Its not fair really, but what can you do?

That said, I see no reason why MSI wouldn't make 4gb versions. If I remember right the 3gb version of the 580 lightning followed the 1.5gb version by several weeks, so it was the same deal.

Design: it would look like any other of our full cover blocks from the last months. Normal copper base with an engraved stainless steel top and if necessary some kind of Delrin bridge or the newer 3D flow copper part. Creating a special design would only increase the costs and producing such a block with an unknown demand already is a pain in the a... from an economic point of view.

Limited Edition: No, it will not be limited nor will it have such an engraving. Of course if such a block will be produced we will also list it for regular sale in our shop so hopefully some other customers or reseller will take a few. This way your price can be calculated more user friendly. If we would really limit it we would have to split all involved costs across a small group of customers so the block will be more expensive in the end.

I would be interested. Just got my Lightning today.

I would buy a couple of them. I want to buy two lightnings, it is the lack of a water block that is holding me back.

same here.
In the mean time; can you spread the word to any friends or other OCN members? We need 50+ orders before AC will do anything
