So you have three slots between the cards? In this case you can use the twinconnect for three cards which goes over 5 slots.

I have a question:

Been reading up on water loop corrosion and why does Aqua Computer use Steel tops with Copper blocks... Seems that blatently introduces mixed metals. Or does that "O" ring stop contact thus corrosion?

Actually, I guess I could just seal or paint the underside of that steel plate with something to prevent dissimilar metal to metal contact, the seal might even be better with a sealing plastic coating of some sort. Any thoughts on this??

Edit: so it seems certain types of stainless steel is ok, I guess I'll just have to try it and see.

What exact kind of steel do you guys use anyway??

I would email them directly to ask

info@aqua-computer.de

that was the email that Sven gave me....so I think its him that answers or its his colleagues.

I haven't heard of any corrosion issues with AquaComputer blocks ever since I started working with WC or even before then~
Only EK and the odd Koolance once or twice.
Given Aqua computers design priorities I would say that it's probably safe. However I was thinking of not getting the chrome plated XSPC Raystorm CPU Block just because of that issue. Decided to go with the copper one instead to better match the aqua computer blocks and to eliminate plating imperfections galvanizing corrosion concerns.

I also have new respect for the Aqua Computer rads with no solder. And the modularity is nice. But I already bought the Black Ice SR1s... Hmmm should sell and switch it up to AC rads?

I personally dont' think that its worth if regarding cost V performance.
But hey if you've got the $ and willing to spend it; why not? Make all us WC'ers jelly redface.gif
post #218 of 238
The solder in the rads is far more of a corrosion risk than anything else in the loop from what I've read.

Everything will be fine as long as you do not run your loop with saltwater doh.gif or place your PC next to an indoor swimming pool blinksmiley.gif with a chloric atmosphere.

While normal operation you would be the first customer ever who experience problems with our products for that kind of material mix. We produce stuff like that from the beginning. I use a cuplex EVO block with copper + stainless steel for more than 9 years now, and that block still looks like at the first day.
