I gave them my newegg receipt so they know when I ordered the product and I have no idea why my graphics card died because I have my case with 3 fans in it and it runs really cold. I don't know why it died, is it just the luck of the draw? I had it for 2 years and 2 months and it died on me. Luckily the warranty is for 3 years so I'm in the warranty part. Just bothers me it died that quick when my other graphics card has lasted 6-7 years and I'm running it now on my pc because its my back up card. My 8800 gts 320mb card is running fine tho it probably generates less heat compared to a gtx 470?

It acted weird, It had white lines all over my monitor and it would refuse to re-install drivers to it. I googled those symptoms and people say that usually means the card overheated yet I don't understand why my graphics card would overheat if its in a cool case. Maybe the fermi cards are just crap?

Electronics are vastly complicated things. Billions of components and some break.

Also, just because your room is cool or their is airflow... it does not necessarily mean the chip, VRMS, or something else are cool.

What company is the GPU from?

Gigabyte, I emailed them yesterday at 8pm/9pm about it. I don't know how long it takes them to respond, plus I don't know if the email went through because my browser acted weird. I'm pretty sure it went through but not sure entirely. I guess I can wait until Monday or something and if they don't get in contact with me I guess I can call them because I have their phone number information.

Went through a couple processes and things seem to be going well. I think they're getting ready for me to ship the bad card off to them. The guy who works on computers near me told me this is the normal process. thumb.gif

So far I had to submit two different forms online and he said that is normal.

Gigabyte seems to being doing a good job, I will let you guys know how things turn out. Pretty sure things should go well.

It will be a couple of days before they send me the RMA label so I can send it out to them tho. So don't expect me to inform you how things turn out right away. I'm expecting maybe a week or two to see what happens.

Gigabyte responded pretty fast, they're sending me a Gigabyte GTX 570 in the mail as a replacement for my dead gtx 470 card. So, I'm getting an upgrade which is nice. biggrin.gif
